Carved Tiki & Lucite Lamp

This lamp was made for the South Pacific Room (The Monkeyman home bar). It features 4 carved Tangaroa's on the corners with additional decorative carving on the horizontal fascia. The translucent panels are made from Lucite (Courtesy of Elaine Bentz). It looks great both in the day and at night. The lamp turns on and off with a pull chain down the center.

Tapa Covered Fish trap Lamp

This lamp is the Monkeyman rendition of an old Tiki bar classic. Features authentic Fijian Tapa cloth over a lightweight frame. The Tapa cloth is coated with crafting glue for added strength and allows the lamp to be dusted and cleaned. Uses a dual bulb fixture inside so the light casts evenly throughout. Hangs from dual mounting points. The end caps are removable to change out bulbs.

Its fragile so local delivery is preferred for future orders.

Bamboo Post Lamp w/ Resin Base

This 5 post bamboo/tapa lamp features decorative sea grass elements around the top and bottom. Tapa styled "fabric" (not real tapa- any bark cloth pattern could be used) covered with crafting glue for additional durability and better resistance to bulb heat. The bamboo posts are half split in the middle but whole at the top and bottom.

The top of the lamp is fully finished with a self centering mounting bracket. The base is made from dozens of bamboo rings held together with resin. The light passes through the base in unique pattern. This lamp can be made less expensively with a fabric base instead of the resin.

Tapa Lamp w/Faux Coconut Base

A simple Bed Bath and Beyond lamp with a Monkeyman twist. A recovered lampshade with fabric from a vintage aloha shirt. Sea grass trim at the top and bottom. The ceramic base was painted with a faux finish to look like a coconut.
